Electromagnetic fire door holders are designed to hold open fire doors in areas where easy access is essential. They can be used in conjunction with any suitable fire alarm system. When the alarm is triggered, power to the door holders is cut, allowing the door to automatically close. All of our conventional door holders can be supplied in different voltages and colours to order.
Keeping fire doors in the open position has many benefits. It ensures ease of access in line with the disability provision of the Equality Act 2010, helps prevent wear and tear of expensive fire doors, improves building ventilation and can reduce feelings of isolation brought on by closed doors. The Salamander Door Closer and Door Holder are suitable for use with Categor y A installations as defined by BS7273-4. They are approved to EN1155 and CE marked.
Salamander Door Closer
The Door Closer is suitable for most fire doors, holding them open at any desired position. It can also be used in free-swing mode, making it ideal for bedroom doors. When the fire alarm is activated, the door safely closes. Power size 3.
Salamander Door Holder
Designed for doors with standard closers already in place, the Salamander Door Holder uses innovative, wire-free, magnetic technology to safely hold open fire doors and release them upon activation of the fire alarm. 200N (20kg) holding force.
Salamander Sounder
By law, fire alarm sounders must be heard at a minimum of 75dB in sleeping areas. Studies have shown that fire doors can absorb 10dB from corridor sounders and installing extra wired units to meet legislation can prove costly and disruptive. The wire-free Salamander Sounder provides an easy solution, with an output level of 90dB at a range of 1 metre.
Salamander Zleepsafe
In the event of a fire, it is essential that everybody is able to evacuate a building as quickly and safely as possible. When the fire alarm is triggered, the Salamander Zleepsafe flashes, vibrates and displays “FIRE” on the screen, alerting any deaf or hard-of-hearing people to an evacuation. Geofire’s innovative design features an LED light, vibrating pillow pad and an alarm clock function.
